What others think about us

First I have to say that the staff were all wonderful and welcoming, that usually sets off how you feel about your stay. I honestly can't find anything to say negative about our stay the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The location is really great as you are near so many places with in walking distance.
Each day the free daily breakfast was great, it made it so quick and easy to get on with our day of touring knowing that a hot breakfast would be downstairs. I also really enjoyed the living room and fireplace, it was so cozy and you felt like sitting there reading a book.

I had a fantastic weekend staying here. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and very comfortable and plenty spacious. The complimentary breakfast is top notch and has more options than any other hotel I’ve stayed at. You can’t beat this location, especially if you’re a history buff. It’s adjacent to east cemetery hill, so it’s only a short walk to many of the battlefield sights and is also within waking distance to the center of the town. Their hotel shirts are pretty awesome too! Next time I head to Gettysburg, I’ll be looking to book a room here again!

The best place to stay in Gettysburg. The staff from the front desk to those who clean the rooms are the most professional and helpful people in the industry. That is just one of the reasons we choose to stay there every time we come to town. The rooms are always clean with a cheery welcoming package. We do quite a bit of traveling and their morning breakfast can't be rivaled. It is conveniently located as to allow you to walk to any part of the park or restaurants you wish to visit. I highly recommend the 1863 Inn to all my friends.

I never leave reviews but I hope someone planning a trip to Gettysburg will find this useful. I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and if it is booked for the dates I want to go, I will change my dates to stay there. The hotel room and common areas are always spotless. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. One great perk is the amazing breakfast they serve. The buffet is rather large with hot and cold items. The hotel is located across the street from shopping and restaurants. Many historical and haunted places of interest are all within walking distance. The Jennie Wade house is right next door. Except for driving the battlefields my car is parked for the remainder of my trip. Another perk is they are pet friendly. I highly recommend this hotel you will not be disappointed!!

This is a fabulous hotel in town. The staff were super friendly and our room (at the rear of the hotel) was spacious, clean and quiet. There is ample parking and the breakfast is great. We would definitely stay here again.

If you plan to go to Gettysburg don’t hesitate in choosing this hotel for your stay. This was our first time here and we had nothing but a positive experience.
We stayed in a king jacuzzi room. It was very spacious, very clean and nicely updated. We we extremely comfortable in our room.
The location can’t be beat.
Breakfast in the morning was much better than most. Waffles, French toast, omelets, scrambled eggs, ham and sausage and much more.
We look forward to our next stay in this hotel.

We always stay at the 1863 Inn when visiting Gettysburg. The Inn is within walking distance of the battlefield and some good places to eat. The staff is really friendly and very helpful when making reservations, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and, thanks to the staff, it's just like being at home. If you need a place to stay on your trip to Gettysburg, we highly recommend the Inn 1863.

CLEAN, spacious, comfortable room. Great location in the heart of downtown Gettysburg. Plenty of free, on-site parking. Walking distance to many destinations and activities. Lovely, well-kept facility. Situated right next to the (possibly haunted) Jennie Wade House. Best, freshest, possibly most diverse and expansive hotel continental breakfast I've ever had.  There was no bathtub, only a shower unit, in our room if that would matter to anyone too. Would GLADLY stay here again!!

Our stay was pleasant from check-in to check-out. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We appreciated the details provided on the website such as exactly where each room is located. The entire hotel was clean and nicely decorated. Our room was on the first floor in the rear of the main building. It was quiet and had everything that we needed, including multiple charging ports. Parking was ample and convenient. Breakfast included a variety of options that changed a bit each day. Gettysburg's attractions are at your doorstep here.

We only stayed overnight at 1863 Inn of Gettysburg but we found the staff to be very friendly, the rooms clean, all amenities working properly, comfortable beds, and great location. The bus tour we took is extremely close to the hotel as well as the entrance to the Gettysburg National Cemetery/Gettysburg National Military Park. We would definitely come back and stay here again.
